CURLING HIGHLIGHTS

Nickname: Steph

Curls out of: Grand Forks Curling Club

Curling start: "When I was younger I always loved to go watch my dad curl in league and in bonspiels. Then when I got to be about 12 he got me started and ever since my family has been very involved in the sport."

Curling family: "My dad and younger brothers curl."

Other sports: "I play on a women's softball team in the summer and women's volleyball league in the winter. I also enjoy fishing, water skiing/tubing and snowmobiling."

Curling goals: "My main goal in curling is to be on one of the next Olympic teams."

What she enjoys most about curling: "I most enjoy all the great people you meet through competitions, and the friends you make from it. I think it is a great sport involved in much socializing especially at a national level where you meet people from all over the nation. I also like the game when the shots are more difficult to make because it really gets you concentrating."

Training: "During juniors I would practice a lot with my coach and other teammates to work on team dynamics but now for women's I just practice with my team and go to bonspiels. I also work out at the gym and lift weights to stay in shape and conditioned."

Curling strengths: "I'd have to say my biggest strength is the solid delivery I have. I think another strength I have is that I can curl with almost anybody whether they are good or not because I love to help younger kids who are willing to learn how to play the sport."

Hobbies: Playing softball, volleyball, shopping, and hanging out with my friends."

Career goals: "I hope to become a nurse anethesist and work in a somewhat large hospital possibly in Colorado."
